Mobile Website Design

This service provides a simple web page suitable for viewing on web enabled mobile phones.

It is intended for local business services that mobile phone users may search for when travelling or perhaps in an emergency.

Typical businesses include hotels, restaurants, taxis, car hire, locksmiths, plumbers, roofers, electricians, etc.

Page content will be in text format with a simple image logo (if required) similar to that shown in the screenshot shown here. There is a width restriction on the logo so that it will appear in the small phone screens. Colours will be matched to your existing website theme.

Page content must be kept as short and concise as possible, bearing in mind that the small screen space available on some phones will mean users are scrolling constantly.

Layout of information on the page is very important as users face different charges or may be in a hurry, so they will be looking for the most important information and a contact phone number near or at the top of the page.

The page will be submitted to Google so the choice and use of main keywords in the page text and title tag is extremely important for the page to have a good chance of ranking highly in mobile search results. *This service does not guarantee high rankings as this can depend upon many factors not under our control.

Some phones may display part of the title tag at the top of the screen as seen in the example above, so it will be written with that in mind as well as Search Engines.

The page will be validated using the W3C mobileOK Scheme 1.0 and the W3C Markup Validation Service at the time it is made. These checks help to ensure that the page should display well on a wide range of current mobile phones which can browse the web. It will appear slightly differently on each different make due to screen sizes and the phones own operating systems. Future developments may of course mean changes could be required.

The cost for this service is a £65 set up fee which includes a .mobi domain name (*subject to availability) and 12 months hosting for the web page. Thereafter the cost for hosting and domain name is £30 per year. Web pages are not transferable to another web host service.
